The very first tip of the week is all inspired by an upcoming festival. Pinkpop will be my real first festival. Since I’m so looking forward to it, here are a few tips for those of you who will go there as well, or those who are planning to watch it on the tv:

- Saturday:
- Elbow. Great band, currently touring with their latest award-winning album ‘the Seldom Seen Kid’. It’s an incredible record; very diverse and lots of musical surprises, great lyrics and singer Guy Harvey is able to sing anything he wants to. Sway to the beautiful ‘Mirrorball’ and find out how hard it is to stand still to ‘Grounds For Divorce’.
- Bruce Springsteen. Of course, if you’re going to Pinkpop, then this is the main headliner for the weekend. You’ve got to see ‘the Boss’ for sure. He is one of the few artists that have been succesful over the years, but it still hasn’t affected his music in a negative way. He still seems to enjoy making music, probably now even more than ever.

Sunday:
- De Staat. A Dutch band which has released a very good record called ‘Wait for Evolution’. It’s a mix between rock, roots and dark kind of popmusic. They’re a great liveband as well.
- Keane. Of course I have to recommend Keane, my favourite band ever. They’ve grown so much as liveband since their performance on Pinkpop in 2006! They’re back with 2008’s ‘Perfect Symmetry’, which has been a major departion from their CP-70-driven debut album ‘Hopes & Fears’. You can even expect to see a guitar and bass on stage now! Still the songs have remained incredibly catchy and Tim Rice-Oxley’s writing skills seem to have improved even more.
- Kyteman’s Hiphop Orkest. Trust me, there is very few hiphop music that I like. Mainly due to the fact that there seems to be a lack of ‘real’ sounding instruments on those kind of records. But Kyteman’s Hiphop Orchestra is so different! Lots of instruments, different layers. It’s making hiphop attractive for hiphop-dislikers like me. So, check it out!

Monday:
- Franz Ferdinand: Perfect festivalband, I guess. They’ve just released their good, latest album ‘Tonight’ this year. I’m really looking forward to this performance. ^^
- The Kooks: Great band with catchy poptunes, but I won’t be seeing them unfortunately. So, if you want to spite me, go and see the Kooks and tell me that they were awesome. XD
- Mando Diao.

So, I think you can tell I’m pretty excited, right? Just two more days. ^^
